Genesis World Mission Director Steven Reames said the clinic has been a project three years in the making.“We want to do something that has a real lasting impact,” he said.Workers just completed the construction on the clinic building this month.

After the equipment arrives, the clinic only needs to hire staff before it can open its doors.

Reames said the clinic will provide important health-care services to those who previously had no options.“Without a car, it’s too far away” for the inhabitants of Ndumberi to reach other clinics, Reames said, the nearest one being in Nairobi.

“Even then, public health care there is very substandard.”The clinic was designed to be a lasting project that can eventually be self-sufficient and run on its own without the help of the Western world.

Staff at Genesis World Mission have worked closely with Ndumberi ministries to help make the clinic a success.
