Cardiac Science, Philips Settle Lawsuit

...Cardiac Science will not have to pay patent royalties to Philips, Europe's largest electronics manufacturer.Cardiac Science filed suit against Philips Medical Systems North America in February 2003, alleging Philips' HeartStart OnSite Defibrillator, HeartStart, HeartStart FR2 and HeartStart Home Defibrillator infringed on at least ten of Cardiac Science's patents.Cardiac Science shares rose 23 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $9.94 on the Nasdaq Stock Market, while U.S.-traded shares of Netherlands-based Philips fell 45 cents to $41.92 on the New York Stock Exchange.© 2007 The Associated Press.
