Runner nurse saves again

Michael Newton, another doctor and nurse also helped the man before a paramedic arrived and used a defibrillator to restart his heart.Coincidentally, the paramedic, Terry Ritter, was the husband of Brink's running partner, Danielle Ritter.

Brink helped by cutting off the downed runner's shirt to check for a pulse and later taking the man's blood pressure, while Danielle Ritter held off traffic.Brink said she visited the man in the hospital Sunday morning, where he shook her hand with thanks.

His name is not being released, but Newton said he is doing fine."This was one of those weird things where it was five years to the day," Newton said.Brink, who has been a nurse for 10 years, said she chose the career because her father suffered from heart problems.But she doesn't want the spotlight.

She's just glad both men survived.
